How does emotional baggage affect you?

Emotional baggage, the trauma and unprocessed emotions we all carry, affecting every aspect of our lives.

Under a heavy weight of emotional baggage, we often make choices that tend to that baggage first. Our body can also ache and associate the emotional baggage with dis-ease. First of all, overwhelming emotions become trapped as a protective measure in order to deal with the situation at hand. Later the overwhelming emotions are meant to be observed and felt when it is safe for processing and releasing, with only the memory and the lessons to remain. Rarely does the full processing and release occur, rarely do we have skills or knowing to go back, remember, feel and process.

The word ‘trigger' is used often today. We all generally understand what we mean by ‘trigger’ and, we all have them. Maybe the ‘trigger’ is on the road in the form of road rage, maybe it’s with your spouse or children, maybe it’s struggling to find or be a romantic partner, maybe it’s the news again, or maybe it’s work. Have you found a trigger example of your own yet? I’m sure we can all remember a trigger moment, the intense feelings and the cascade of events or decisions after. How did that go while triggered? Do you then experience regret or remorse for not having handled the situation some other way. And the story continues on… Guess what is at the base of a trigger? Trapped emotions.

Now imagine the powerful triggering emotion is no longer there to flip your switch? The emotions associated with that trigger have all been processed and released, even if this occurred in early childhood. Can you then imagine some relief, space, a lightness, an ability to more easily make a choice you would be proud? Perhaps the new choice is grounded in making steps forward, perhaps the new choice is grounded is holding a clear boundary for yourself with grace? Can you also now thank your subconscious for protecting you before, being grateful for the lessons and the ability to release with ease?

In addition to releasing triggers or rather, trapped emotions, you may also experience reduction in pains and symptoms and even the discomfort fading away. These pains and symptoms often serve as our body’s notification system that there are trapped emotion(s) lodged in the body waiting to be processed and released. They need to be felt, have their moment of reverence and be released, not be ignored no matter how loud this notification from your subconscious and body becomes. Emotion Code Therapy is here to assist with all of this, in the most gentle way.

What to expect with an Emotion Code Session?

Emotion Code Therapy is a gentle method for communicating with the subconscious mind to bring to the surface what is ready to be released, and then releasing. The sessions are private and when memories are triggered, clients do not need to share the memories out loud. If a client does feel the need to share, we keep the sharing brief and anything shared is kept private and confidential. We only ask your subconscious for just enough information for the trapped emotion to be brought to the surface, generally nothing more unless the client desires more information about the event or situation associated with the individual trapped emotion.

Next, we move to releasing the trapped emotion by moving a magnet over the governing meridian or the primary electrical pathway in the body as defined by TCM. Yes, this method works whether in-person, on the phone or video call together, or by proxy. Once we confirm the trapped emotion was released, we continue identifying the next trapped emotion ready for its acknowledgement moment and release.

So the process goes until we have reached the end of the session or the subconscious informs us that is enough for the day. Again, your subconscious serves you and knows what trapped emotions to prioritize bringing to the surface and when. Session notes will be sent to your email address after the session concludes, unless you opt not to receive the session notes.

Emotion Code Therapy can offer relief in as little as one session. However, with a lifetime of collecting emotional baggage along the way, this process can be more like an onion peeling, needing multiple layers of trapped emotions to be identified and released. Clients will also find that it becomes easier to recognize trapped emotions on their own in a moment, and give themselves permission to release the baggage holding onto only the memory and the lessons with gratitude.
